The five workpackages of MARTEC
Workpackage 1 - Information exchange
Objektives (Work package leader: PtJ)
The process in applying information to the various segments of funded maritime programs in different countries is not an easy collection of data. Information has become so significant, that the stregth of a report heavily depends on the availability and quality of data. On the basis of ENCONA the information exchange has to be addressed to collect information on:
- National policies
- Funding organisations
- National priority areas
- National programs, research projects and management practices
Workpackage 2 - Strategic activities
Objectivies (Work package leader: CETMEF)
This work package will investigate the common strategic issues related to research, devolopment and innovation within European Maritime Industry. The main objectives of this work package are to:
- Contribute to built a coherent EU strategy on research, development and innovation
- Explore possible mechanisms for achieving greater integration between national maritime RTD within the EU.
In Work Package 2 the following objectives will be met:
- Identification of areas for future co-operation
- Possible barriers for future enhanced integration will be identified and possible solutions sought
- Identification of possible complementarities and gaps between national Maritime research and development programs and policies and analysis of new opportunities in Maritime Research SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis
- Identification of areas for future co-operation
Two workshops are foreseen to be held to enforce the work done under the tasks.
Workpackage 3 - Joint activities
Objectivies (Work package leader: RCN)
Utilisation of the outcomes of WP1 and WP2 and other information and networks to create best practice manuals and other support material to assist the identification, development and implementation of common program and joint calls.
Workpackage 4 - Trans-national R&D activities
Objectivies (Work package leader: INNOVAMAR)
During the project several workshops should be arranged to establish a common understanding and agreement between the MARTEC partners on common management practices and common funding initiatives. The final test field for those agreements will be the implementation of a pilot case. The main objectives of this work package are to:
- Establish a network of program managers
- Start of a trans-national research funding activity
- Define a strategy and practices on sustainability of the MARTEC co-operation
Workpackage 5 - Project Network Co-ordination and dissemination
Objectivies (Work package leader: PtJ)
Co-ordination and management of the network includes the co-ordination of all tasks, investigations and administrative management activities, ensuring the information exchange between partners, Task and Work package leaders, stakeholders and the close communication with the European Commission. Through the Co-ordinator the project secretariat will be strongly involved in implementing the action plan for the project and planning future activities.
- Basic technical and financial administration
- Ensuring internal communication (install & ensure BPM, SC & AC meetings)
- Installation of the internet portal and its tools
- Reporting and Controlling progress of the project
- Dissemination of project aims and results
- Organisation of meetings and workshops
- Contact to international organisations, stakeholders and the EC
